A stick pack is a slim, tube-shaped single-serve pack. Printed rollstock is formed into a narrow tube on a vertical machine, sealed along the back and crimped at both ends. Think of it as a narrower, more elegant version of the classic sachet.
Common products
Sugar and sweeteners, instant coffee, protein and electrolyte powders, vitamins, honey and energy gels, powdered pharmaceuticals and cosmetic samples.
Benefits
- Consistent portion control, ideal for supplements.
- Highly portable.
- Typically uses less film per dose than a flat sachet.
- The narrow opening pours neatly into a cup or bottle.
Technical notes
Stick packs are usually made on multi-lane machines, so slit width and print repeat must match the equipment precisely, and small registration errors are very visible. Powder in the seal area can weaken seals, so the sealant layer should tolerate contamination. Moisture-sensitive products need foil or metallised barrier structures. A tear notch at one end makes opening easy without scissors.
